of judgment with that said Peace to the saints that are in the room to the Saints who couldn't make it [00:43] to the Saints walking in on the camera but no peace to the Wicked the only thing we say let's um Let's uh let's go on to the Book of Ruth [05:05] right this is the Book of Ruth we're gonna start at chapter one now what I want y'all to know about well let's read [05:10] the first part of the Book of Ruth and then we'll we'll kind of stop and talk about it a little bit this is uh the Book of Ruth chapter one verse one [05:18] now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled that there was a famine in the land and a certain man of Bethlehem [05:23] Judah went out to sojourn in the country of Moab he and his wife is and his two sons so this is a time when the judges [05:31] ruled what did we just get done reading the Book of Judges and what do we see [05:37] throughout the Book of Judges what's one of the themes of the Book of Judges [05:43] people acting crazy without a leader what else [05:48] people were doing very good people were doing what they thought was right they didn't know it was right they did whatever they thought right what else [05:56] yeah some people were getting killed what else though [06:02] didn't the most I got raise up people to help keep keep you know saving us from from situations [06:07] as soon as they were gone they went right back to the they went right back to it right so this is telling us the [06:14] Book of Ruth is during the time that we just read about we don't know exactly when right we don't know if she's at the [06:20] beginning of Judges or the end but it's during the same time now I believe she's [06:25] at the beginning because we're going to find out that her um uh uh uh her mother-in-law is [06:33] actually Rahab who remembers Rahab who remembers when when Joshua right [06:41] took over from Moses and then Joshua was sent spies in to [06:46] Jericho remember Jericho the one with the big walls and we walked around the walls and we blew the trumpet and the [06:52] wall just came right on down we all scored in the building so y'all remember before that we sent spies in there and the spies weren't [06:58] there to scope stuff out it was Giants but that is not exactly [07:03] the same part but the spies went in there first so you talking about in the wilderness when the spies were sent into [07:10] the land right that's good but this is the when after we going into land Joshua's in spies out and they went in [07:16] and they found a woman named Rahab and a woman named Rahab she hit him right yeah yeah I think it was like uh [07:26] flax flax yeah to get him she hit him under the flats right so she hit him and [07:32] then they said listen because you hit me we gonna save you right and what she had [07:37] to do something put a red Scarlet right on the door so they could see okay we're gonna kill everybody but the people in this [07:44] house and what she telling her what they tell them about her being in the house feel like gather your family if you go [07:51] outside the house that's on you ain't it yeah you leave that out that's on you right so that's Rahab she ended up [07:58] living and becoming a part of our people after that she wasn't a Hebrew she wasn't an Israelite but because she was [08:03] obedient to the to the men that served God then the most high God allowed her to be a part of our people right so [08:10] Rahab ends up being the Mother-in-law of Ruth we're gonna find that out at the end of Ruth maybe or at the beginning of [08:16] the same you wanted to I think no I think at the end of Ruth we're gonna find out at some point we're gonna find it out we're gonna find out the end no [08:22] we actually don't find that out into the Gospels right when we talk about the genealogy of yahushua that's when they talk that's [08:28] when we find out that she's the but her son rayap's son is named Boaz and at the [08:35] end of Ruth that's who she that's who uh Ruth is going to end up marrying a man named Boaz okay so it's important to [08:42] think about it if you look at it that kind of places root at the beginning of the times of [08:48] the judges right because we know uh Rahab would have been well too old because it's been I want to say like 300 [08:55] something years throughout what we read so she would have been way well too old to be uh boaz's uh mother later in time [09:03] okay so let's let's look at Ruth let's try to see what we can figure out here uh see [09:08] what the book is telling us is Ruth chapter one verse wherever we left off two three [09:14] uh no chapter one verse one verse one all right let's look at it now it came to pass in the days of when the judges [09:20] ruled that there was a famine in the Bethlehem Judah too they was close to Judah because he was fighting Philistines I don't know if he was in [10:30] Bethlehem but they were in Judah I thought I saw him come to mind with Samson but yeah I want to say somebody else where Bethlehem so a couple times [10:36] so far that came and took him to the Philistines like yo we don't take you to this listing yeah it was around that area some somewhere else Bethlehem Judah [10:43] came up you gonna see a recurring theme right with Bethlehem Judah coming up if we if we go all the way back we don't [10:49] have to get it but we go all the way back we're gonna see one of the first occurrences of it is [10:54] um um uh [11:00] what's uh what's Jacob wife name the one he loved [11:06] uh Rachel Rachel you know I'm saying Rachel I want to say Rebecca uh Rachel [11:11] uh you're gonna see Rachel was in uh Bethlehem as well [11:16] you know I'm saying so all these things all these things are going to end up being report important as we talk about the the Messiah right we're gonna see [11:24] all these different events and how they tie into the Messiah as we start to read about them it'll jog our memory and be [11:29] like Oh Bethlehem Messiah was born in Bethlehem and you start thinking about all the other things that happened in Bethlehem okay [11:36] keep going let's see and the name of the man was elimelech [11:42] the name of his wife Naomi in the name of his two sons melon in shilon [11:48] aphrodites of Bethlehem Judah and they came into the country of Moab and continued there and elimelech Naomi's [11:55] husband died and she was left and her two sons and they took them wives of the women of Moab the name of the one was [12:02] orfa in the name of the other Ruth and they dwelled there about 10 years [12:08] in my in melon and shillon died also both of them and the woman was left of her two sons and her husband [12:15] then she arose with her daughters-in-law that she might return from the country of Moab for she had heard in the country [12:21] of Moab how that the Lord had visited his people and given them bread that's why she went forth out of that [12:27] out of the place where she was and her two daughters-in-law with her and they went on the way to return unto the land [12:34] of Judah and Naomi said unto her two daughters-in-law go return each to her [12:39] mother's house yahuwah deal Connie with you as you have dealt with the dead and with me and the Lord grant you that you [12:46] may find rest each of you in the house of her husband then she kissed them and they lift up their voice and wept right [12:53] so yeah the mom mom's name is what [12:58] Naomi okay so mom's name is Naomi her the mom's husband has already passed [13:06] he passed away dead right then her two sons also died her two sons were married [13:12] so she has two daughters-in-laws two daughter-in-laws they are following the mom the mom is [13:20] talking to the daughter-in-law like listen your husband's gone my sons are gone my husband gone I appreciate what y'all did [13:27] y'all been honorable women but y'all go find like I'll release y'all go find y'all some new husbands right she trying [13:34] to make sure that like don't you ain't gotta you know what I'm saying you know I get it y'all loyal I don't think nothing of it go ahead go find y'all [13:40] some new husbands so y'all sons in my womb that they may be your husbands right so Naomi the mother [16:23] she's saying listen I'm too old to have more children for y'all to marry because she looking [16:29] like it's nothing else you can get from me because because at this time you got to understand the pride of a woman was [16:35] to be able to produce Great Men right and great children or produce [16:40] women that would produce Great Men right so that was that was that that's the pride of a woman to be able to produce [16:46] and have children that would be able to accomplish and be known as great so [16:52] these women don't have children right or at least Ruth did now I don't know if the other one did but for sure [16:58] Ruth didn't have children right so we're now that she's they kind of looking and she's looking like look y'all got to go [17:03] get y'all some husbands so that y'all can do what y'all got to do right keep going watch this [17:11] whoa trying to get my daughters your way for against me uh-huh and they lift up their voices and wept again in order for [17:41] kissed her mother-in-law but roof Ruth clave unto her right so orfa that's [17:47] that's Ruth's sister right or it's a orpha she came to her mother-in-law and she kissed her so when she said that [17:53] Orville kind of like like I'm sad about this but fine I'm gonna go I'm gonna go back to Moab like you said so she giving [18:00] her a kiss to say goodbye right but Ruth on the other hand the book say she claimed to her and what claimed mean [18:06] when you say you claved to her when you cleave to somebody what does that mean yeah huh you stuck with him right you [18:12] grabbing onto him you holding on to them right so she holding on to her so she's saying no I won't go over looking like I [18:19] hear what you're saying and you you right about what you're saying right what you're saying is you can't handle [18:25] more kids even you said you gonna have some kid you think imma wait until the kid become grown so I can marry the kid [18:31] right because our people we didn't do that pedophile so you mess with little kids so we ain't messing with that stuff right so we she she's like is it [18:37] reasonable let's say even if I could have kids is it reasonable for you to wait around to my kid is old enough for [18:43] y'all to marry she looking like that great why don't y'all behold thy sister-in-law has gone back unto her people and unto her Gods return Thou [19:11] after thy sister-in-law and Ruth said and treat me not to leave to leave you or to return from following after you [19:18] for wherever you go I will go and where you stay I will stay right your people [19:24] shall be my people and your God my God so Ruth is saying listen I want to be just like you [19:30] wherever you go imma go wherever you stay Imma Stay I'm a Serial God she knows back there in Moab [19:37] so she looking like there's nothing there's nothing out there for me I want to be with you I'm your people now [19:43] when a woman marry into being an Israelite would that make her yeah yeah the Israelite Heritage at that [19:49] point right so she looking like no it don't make no sense I didn't adopted the lifestyle what I'm doing what I'm gonna [19:55] do now what I'm supposed to do now right so let's see what happens where you die I will die dare will I be [20:02] buried left speaking unto her uh-huh and so they too win until they came in other words when she say [20:31] that she left speaking on tour when she saw that she was steadfastly minded to go at some point Naomi just like you know [20:37] what I ain't about to keep arguing with your butt right because because Ruth wasn't having it right so Naomi sitting [20:42] there like I know but you should go like that like no because I want to stay with you so at some point Naomi just threw [20:47] her hands up like you know I ain't about you you know what I'm saying about to keep it come on bring your butt let's go right because you know it's a sad time [20:54] for everybody everybody and lost everybody imagine being a woman you lost your you lost your husband and then you [21:00] lost both of your sons that's tough that's something tough to deal with you got to think about that you got to deal [21:06] with that internally right keep going watch this so they too win until they came to Bethlehem came him the book said what does that mean what does it mean when the book say the [21:35] whole city moved about him when it came to it like it went with them it like it's like what [21:46] kind of they walk into the City and everybody turn everybody look like oh [21:51] wow and then they started to circle around them that's what I mean when they say the whole city moves like all the [21:56] people in the city started kind of made a crowd around them right so it was a spectacle what does that tell you about [22:02] Naomi [22:10] she's well known right she's attracting attention that's what they tell you about her so make [22:15] that tells you Naomi wasn't a nobody she wasn't just a random person right she [22:21] came in and as soon as she came in everybody started looking and did they ask about Ruth it wasn't like they looking like who would that fine girl [22:27] with Naomi nah they started looking they said is that Naomi they ain't care nothing about Ruth they looked at Naomi [22:33] is it is that Naomi right and then Naomi responds she said man [22:39] look don't even call me Naomi no more you know what I'm saying might well call me darn Mara why [22:45] because the almighty has dealt bitterly with me right Martin Hebrew mean bitter bitterness so he said man look you might [22:51] well change my name to darm Mara you know why because the most high God made the almighty he didn't work he didn't [22:57] work bitterness with me you know what I'm saying it's like he dealt bitterly with me he's made me feel [23:04] bitter he's made me feel sad and sorrow because I didn't lost my husband and I lost my two kids so she's still mourning [23:11] you know y'all know what morning means right yeah still crying and grieving over [23:18] somebody dying somebody her family dying right her two sons and her husband right watch us keep going I went out full and [23:25] the Lord has brought me home again empty right she said when she left she was [23:30] full you know what I'm talking about when she left oh we were doing good that's how you know she's well known she [23:36] probably left out there with a whole bunch of money everything good she living a good life her husband bringing [23:43] it in everything good she come back and it's like I ain't got nothing to my darn name [23:50] right let's see keep going why didn't call you me Naomi seeing the [23:55] Lord has testified against me and the almighty has Afflicted me that's right so Naomi returned and Ruth the moabitus [24:01] her daughter-in-law with her which returned out of the country of Moab and they came to Bethlehem in the beginning [24:07] of barley Harvest and Naomi had a Kinsmen of her husband's a mighty man of [24:13] wealth of the family of elimelech and his name was Boaz and Ruth de moabitat [24:18] said unto Naomi let me know how to go to the field in green ears of corn after him in whose sight I shall find Grace [24:24] and she said unto her go my daughter and she went and came and gleaned in the [24:29] field after the Reapers and her hat was to light on a part of the field belonging unto Boaz who was the Kindred [24:36] of elimelech right so now they're poor at this point they don't have anything and they don't [24:42] have no man to kind of take care of them so now they have to go out and they have to try to figure things out and get it [24:47] for themselves right so Naomi gave her advice gave Ruth advice he's like go [24:53] ahead go find a field and just glean in it why would that have been okay for us [24:58] because the poor of the land can lean in the food in the field that's our law our [25:03] law they're in Israel now right they're not in Moab no more now they're in Israel and Israel's law when you and our [25:10] land you can go if you pour or fatherless or a widow you can go and you [25:17] can glean through any field what does glean mean [25:23] glean so glean when you glean that means you [25:30] walking through so picture picture a farm right you know at a farm they be having like the corn fields you got [25:37] these big old Fields you know what I'm saying where you got fruit or stuff growing or wheat may be growing like a wheat field right so you picture this [25:43] field and you got the big tall you know I'm saying plants growing out of it and on the ends of the plant you might got a [25:49] little weak like a corn a wheat that you could pluck off or you might have you know I'm saying some actual corn you know as we see Corners you could just [25:55] pluck off or maybe you got yums and like a strawberry field you can go pick up some strawberries or whatever right you [26:01] walking through that field gleaning is when you just take a couple right as you walk through right okay I want that and [26:07] I want that and I want that and I want that like at the grocery store like at the grocery store you go to the grocery [26:13] store and you know they'd be having them candy things with the candy you know sometimes a little bad but go in there [26:18] and you try to eat one of the candies that's darn stealing right well in our land if you did that to somebody field [26:24] that wasn't considered stealing right our land it was our law that if you're [26:30] poor or if you're uh you're a widow or a fatherless or in one of them situations [26:35] pretty much poor right you could freely take from people's land so Naomi told [26:41] her go ahead if you know you look at Ruth she probably ain't been to Israel too much so we're probably looking like [26:47] I just walk up and take these people's stuff like no that's our law you can go ahead and do that you fight you ain't got no [26:53] like you follow this was your this is your father-in-law he did your father you're a widow your husband dead [26:59] you're Widow and we ain't got no money you poor listen you good legally they [27:05] can't nobody say nothing to you matter of fact it's our culture to welcome it for you ain't nobody gonna say nothing so she go [27:12] and then the book say she was happy to go to a place uh where Boaz where his [27:17] farm was so what it means by half is that huh like happily yeah just so happy [27:22] yeah it's like she she landed she happened to be at this one place right and it happens to be boaz's [27:30] right a guy named Boaz we gonna learn that Boaz ain't no chump either right [27:35] watch this keep going and behold boys came from Bethlehem and said unto the Reapers the Lord be with you and they [27:42] answered him the Lord blessed thee so now a Reaper what's a Reaper whoever seen the heard the Grim Reaper [27:48] you ever seen a little picture of the Grim Reaper what what the Grim Reaper got I never saw it it's like a it's a thing [27:57] slim Reaper was that a rapper he's like one of the best dunkers [28:04] I never heard of him not a grim reaper no it's not a change like a stick you [28:10] got it and it got like a blade on the end yeah it's like a little blade on in like [28:15] a curb blade you know what that curved blade is for right that's a real thing that's called [28:21] a sickle that's called a sickle when you take so like you let's say you got a tall you got a tall uh you got a [28:29] field of Wheat and you got a tall whatever they call it of wheat you know what I'm saying like a bundle of wheat you would take the sickle and that curve [28:36] you would take this stick and then you'll get it at the end and you'll cut it from the bottom and then when you cut [28:41] it from the bottom you pick it up you wrap it all together and you bundle it right until you take we call that in the [28:47] Bible we call that sheaves right so you when you bundle up the the the crop you'll take it and you'll bundle it up [28:54] and put it on the side so that's why they got that Sickle because it makes it easy for them to cut at the bottom and they can just go like this and just cut [29:00] it down so the the Reapers that's where the Grim Reaper came from because the [29:05] what the the idea is that the Grim Reaper is this monster and he's cutting people's like he's killing people and [29:11] bundling them up like just like somebody would get out of the field and get fruit out of the field and bundle it up right [29:16] so he's talking to the Reapers what they're doing is they work boaz's field Boaz has this field he's he he has [29:24] people that working with them to work in this field so as they work in his field he goes over to him he say look you who [29:30] would be with you watch this [29:36] and they said unto their and he said unto the Reapers yahuwah be with you and they answered him yahuwah bless you [29:41] uh-huh then said Boaz unto your servant that was set over the Reapers whose damsel is this right so now remember she [29:49] happened to be at boaz's field right the reapers are working in the field [29:56] she just picking little things oh they saying look all right just you know I'm saying you stay over there let us you know let her do what we got to do [30:03] now you gotta imagine these is young boys working in the field right Boaz [30:08] would be seen as the boss he's the owner he probably do some work too but the young boys would be serving to his [30:14] people that probably live with him you know I'm saying they trying to learn how to how what it takes to you know what [30:19] I'm saying to own a place like this kind of think of them as like apprentices like people that's in training right to [30:25] be just like Boaz when they get older right so they working for him Boaz come [30:30] to the young boy young boy probably good looking nice looking young boy muscles and all that right boy I come to the [30:36] young boy and he like you know I'm saying you know I'm telling you who are you
