Behold, All Was Vanity and Vexation of Spirit

Summary

Why does chasing happiness and money leave us empty? In this Sabbath lesson from Psalm 118 and Hebrews 12, we learn that Yahuah may chasten us sorely without giving us over to death, and that we have not yet resisted unto blood striving against sin. Through Ecclesiastes 2, 1 Kings 10 and 1 Timothy 6, you’ll see how Solomon’s pleasures, gold and horses all turned out to be vanity and a vexation of spirit, and how the love of money pierces us through with many sorrows. Finally, 2 Corinthians 10, Rehoboam’s harsh answer in 1 Kings 12, Isaiah 26 and Philippians 4 teach us to bring every thought captive, be patient instead of proud, and keep our minds on God and on whatever is true, honest and just.
