Summary
How do we come to understand a book that is sealed? In this Sabbath lesson from John 7 and Matthew 13, we learn that whoever does God’s will shall know the doctrine, and that being faithful with the little we understand is how Yahuah gives us more. Through King Asa’s deal with Syria in 2 Chronicles 16, you’ll see that a choice can be lawful and still unwise, so we should think long term and ask what God wants before taking shortcuts. Finally, Isaiah 29, Ezekiel 34 and Jeremiah 28 warn against teachers who honor God with their lips while trampling the pasture, and they urge us to pick up the book ourselves, stay alert and test every message of peace by whether it comes to pass.
