[00:00] sabbath eve it's another opportunity for us to hear and learn that a word of truth that's given to us by the most high god [00:07] all honor goes to the father through the son whose name is yahushua in him lies the only hope for salvation [00:13] we know that it is obtained by grace through faith not of works lest anyone should boast and give it freely as a [00:19] gift to all who obey him we understand that if we do not obey him it is made manifest or made obvious that you do not [00:26] believe in this state you should expect no good thing from the most high however anything that you do get whether it be a [00:32] gift of tongues the gift of prophecy or any supernatural experience that you may have it can and it will be used against [00:38] you in the day of judgment with that said peace to the saints that are in the room to the saints that couldn't make it [00:43] but no peace to the wicked the only thing we say to them is repent that they might live [00:49] right last week we talked about uh noah [00:55] we talked about noah and noah had to had to weather his way through a storm [01:00] the way he did that is the most hot guy gave him the instruction to build an ark on that arc he invited animals male and [01:07] female of each animal of each kind of animal according to the [01:13] book and seven kinds of the clean animal [01:18] he brought the animals onto the ark and there was a flood [01:24] the flood was so uh the flood waters got so high that it [01:30] went over all the mountains meaning that the entire earth was submerged it was baptized right [01:37] then after that the water started to subside he sent out a few birds so he could prove that the waters was subsided [01:45] he came off of the ark and the most high gay god gave him an instruction who remembers what that [01:51] instruction was multiplied he said yes multiply and the book says in the [01:58] king james replenish the earth but the actual word there what it means is to refill the earth to feel the earth right [02:06] in other words spread out all right so what we're going to look at is we're going to continue on from noah [02:12] and we're going to try to identify you know how we end up getting to the next person in our in our narrative timeline [02:18] the next person in our narrative timeline is abram right but calls him abram later his name becomes abraham [02:26] all right but to do that we have to be able to to get the genealogies to show that how we get there so let's start [02:32] let's actually jump a little bit let's start with abraham this is uh genesis chapter 15 verse 1. [02:38] that's the other side the other way son it's at the very beginning [02:44] it's genesis chapter 15 verse 1. put those cards back boy [02:50] after these things the word of the lord came unto abram in a vision saying fear not abram i am your shield and your [02:56] exceedingly great reward he said i am your shield and your exceedingly great [03:01] reward right it's important see we don't understand what just happened right so what we're going to do [03:08] is we're going to start here but we're going to go back because a lot of things i don't think we're going to be able to get let's just keep reading because i [03:13] don't think we'll be able to get too far right here because we have to understand the significance of what the most high [03:18] god is saying one of the things that that as we go through the book this time one of the things i want to do is i want [03:25] to make sure that we can see i feel like a christian saying that but [03:30] i want to make sure that we can see the humanity of the people that we look at right i want to make sure that we can [03:37] look at them and we can say i would have made a similar decision or i can see someone making that decision i [03:44] want to make sure that we understand why things are happening and how people may have felt given the circumstances that [03:50] we read about right so to do that you're gonna have to understand like why would the most high [03:56] guys say i am your exceedingly great reward i'm your shield and your exceedingly great reward here in the [04:02] beginning of genesis 15. we're gonna get into it let's keep going [04:08] and abram said lord god what will you give me seeing i go childless and the steward of my house [04:14] is this eliezer of damascus right so he's saying what in the world are you going [04:19] to give me seeing that i go childless so most like god says i'm your reward [04:26] and the first thing that abram thinks about is i don't have a child there's a reason [04:32] why his thought goes there first we have to get the context to get there right so let's let's try to let's try to build [04:38] the context first and then we're going to come back here and see if that make a little bit more sense so let's go back [04:43] to um actually let's look at some uh let's look at some genealogies first [04:52] let me one second here so if you look at the genealogy that's on the screen [05:10] this is what's what what's commonly known as the table of nations and they call it the table of nations because [05:17] this is where all the nations of the world stem from remember all the world was flooded [05:23] until noah came along right so when noah came along [05:29] that gets us to where we have someone to repopulate the earth well along with noah [05:35] there were also his three sons who each of them had wives [05:41] right so through them the whole world was repopulated so if we read in genesis [05:47] chapter 10 we don't have to get it but in genesis chapter 10 it started to tell us about japheth and his children right [05:53] and his uh his lineage so it had gomer magog mayday javon [05:59] uh touball meshech and uh tyrus [06:04] and under gomer you have several sons over yvonne you have several sons and [06:10] we'll kind of talk about what these nations end up becoming but in genesis chapter 10 it tells us that these are [06:15] the isles of the gentiles and when you think of gentiles it's another way of saying nations so these are the the [06:22] isles it's like saying other nations right so these are the isles of those other nations those outside nations [06:28] then next it goes through him in genesis chapter 10. and it goes through summerhand it kind of talks to them so a [06:35] lot of these names we won't go through them but a lot of these names will end up coming back to [06:41] right because you'll have we already talked about kanan a little bit and we know that kanan got cursed right so [06:47] kanan he's going to end up being the nation that that uh the israelites take over [06:53] the territory that we're about to learn about with abraham he's in the land of canaan so that's very important and you [07:00] see kanan has a number of uh descendants and many of these [07:05] descendants are descendants that eventually moses is going to prepare a [07:11] people to take over all right then you have misrain mithraim is egypt [07:16] all right so these are the people of egypt if you go down and follow that lineage all the way through it's going [07:21] to take you to the philistines and the philistines are another people that's going to be in the land that we'll learn [07:27] about later so you found it yeah yeah that's what it is for me so um [07:32] and then lastly it goes into shim and so with shim [07:38] there's a number of things that occur you have elam you have artifacts it you have uh asher [07:46] you have uh saila lud what is that arana [07:52] raw all right um so sons which ones the name of one was peleg so you have pele pelag [09:16] right here and then what's the name of the other one for in his days was the earth divided and his brother's name was [09:21] joktan right and his brother name was joktan so we're talking about this right here right so p-leg came first [09:29] and in his days what happened the earth was split the earth was split it was [09:34] divided right earth was divided yeah it's a it's a it's a very specific event that [09:40] occurred in the time of p-leg right so if we go and we look [09:46] you'll see that p-leg has a definition the definition for p-leg is earthquake [09:52] according for the hebrew word that p-leg comes from it means earthquake right [09:58] so his name means earthquake and then also it says this is the time [10:03] where the world was divided that's very important because there's an event that happens [10:09] during the time of p-leg that we'll kind of look into so let's look at genesis chapter 11 [10:15] and let's see what we can uh what we can kind of figure out here is genesis [10:21] chapter 11. [10:28] genesis chapter 11 let's do verse one and the whole earth was one language and of one speech so the entire earth was [10:35] one language and of how many speeches one speech and of one speech you know [10:40] what that means everybody did what same thing everybody spoke the same [10:46] language who's ever seen somebody speak a different language what language did you hear uh [10:54] you never heard nobody speak no dark chinese what about you [11:09] japanese what about you [11:14] cars all right expanded now we ought to heard a whole [11:20] bunch of mexicans and different people speak spanish right because where we are [11:25] there's a lot of people close we're close to mexico so there's a lot of people when they come from mexico or [11:31] people who are here in in living before america took over the land that the mexicans used to have [11:37] or the people that mexicans come from used to have there's a lot of people here right a lot of this land used to be [11:42] mexico right so because of that there's a lot of people that speak spanish [11:48] right mexicans speak spanish there's a lot of other languages that speak spanish as well [11:54] imagine if everybody spoke the same language no matter what everybody understood what the other other group [12:00] was saying right it would be different people would be able to unify and that's exactly what [12:05] happened here everybody spoke the same language let's see and the earth was of one language and of one speech [12:11] and it came to pass as they journeyed from the east that they found a plane in the land of shinar and they dwelt there [12:17] so now the whole world everybody is journeying together everybody's unified [12:22] right so they they came from the east and then they looked for a place and they found a place called shinar [12:29] and what else happened and they said one to another go to let us make brick and burn them thoroughly right here let's [12:35] make some brick what do you do with bricks and build something you build what you what what might you [12:41] build with a brick you might build a wall what else you what else you might build [12:48] a path or you probably put it in or a brick house you might build somewhere to stay right what else [12:54] what you got whatever you into boy i don't know [12:59] what's wrong with my boy [13:06] no you just darn being silly right but you you take bricks and you'll build something like a house right something [13:12] strong well that's kind of what they're doing watch this watch what they built [13:17] and they said one to another go to let us make brick and burn them thoroughly and they had brick for stone and slime [13:23] had they for mortar and they said go to let us build us a city in a tower whose top may reach unto [13:29] heaven so they wanted to build a city that's kind of like building a house right they wanted to build a city and then in [13:36] the midst of the city what else did they build a tower a tower that does what [13:42] it reaches up into heaven that reaches up into heaven right what does that mean [13:47] when the book say it reaches up into heaven what does that mean really really high in the sky [13:53] it's big it's a skyscraper right another way of saying sky is heaven right when we look when you see [14:00] heaven in the bible it's like saying sky right so just like when people say it's a skyscraper it's like it would be the [14:06] same saying that it's it's a heaven scrape scraper or it's in the heaven right so they tried to build a [14:11] skyscraper just like what we see in the world today when you go to new york or go to la or chicago or all these cities [14:18] they have these high buildings that's all the way in the sky they tried to build something to build something like [14:23] that go ahead what do you have a question about that huh [14:29] they're tall what do we got and let us make a name lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth so now they said [14:37] let us make a name right so they want to build this city they want to give this city a name and the [14:44] reason why they don't want to do it is because they don't want to be scattered abroad across the earth [14:50] is that a problem yeah that's a problem why is that a problem [14:55] the lord said replenish the earth the most high god said you supposed to feel the earth you're supposed to spread out [15:03] right i told you to multiply and spread out but y'all tried to multiply and stay [15:10] right in the same spot all speak the same languages so now mozart guy got to fix the issue let's see what happened [15:16] and the lord came down to see the city and the tower which the children of men built right but god came down he saw it [15:22] and what do you say and the lord said behold the people is one and they have all one language [15:28] and this they begin to do and now nothing will be restrained from them which they have imagined to do he said [15:33] nothing would be restrained from them that they've imagined to do and the reason is because they all had one [15:41] language everybody has one language and they're unified [15:48] this is something that god acknowledges you know how people say we just have too much division in the world if we were [15:53] all just unified we'd be able to the most like god knows that that's true if everybody was unified book says read [16:00] it again watch what god says and lord said behold the people is one and they have all one language he says the people [16:05] is one and they all have one language watch this and this they began to do and now nothing will be restrained from them [16:11] which they have imagined to do he said nothing that they imagined would be kept from them because they are one people [16:17] with one language so that shows that if everybody is unified man you can't stop [16:23] all them people if everybody is unified right and this is the most high god [16:29] saying it well like i said look everything they imagine they gonna be able to get to it [16:34] but i got like i can't have that happen so let's see what the most like guy did in return go to let us go down [16:41] and there confound their language that they may not understand one another's speech when the book says confounded it means [16:47] confused right so he said you have to confuse their language so where people knew what [16:53] everybody else spoke the language everybody else spoke when the muslim god confounds it or confused the language [16:59] now not everybody knows what everybody speaks so he mixed up the languages and he gave people different languages watch [17:05] this so the lord scattered them abroad from there upon the face of all the earth and [17:11] they left off to build the city right so the exact thing that they were preventing that they wanted to prevent [17:16] from happening remember they built that city because they didn't want to be scattered abroad but the most high god scattered them and he spreaded them out [17:23] throughout all the earth the book say right and then they left off from building that city watch this [17:31] therefore is the name of it called babel because the lord did there did there confound the language of all [17:37] the earth from there did the lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth [17:42] so the most high god scattered everybody at that point it's important that we see that the most high god had to intervene [17:48] because everybody was on the same page right if we look at um let's grab uh first corinthians chapter one verse one [17:55] real quick actually not verse one give me verse ten it's first corinthians chapter 1 verse [18:00] 10. [18:07] because this is this is this is why reading the old testament is important because everybody we reading about in the new testament they were raised on [18:14] the old testament or they had to learn or rely for their wisdom on the old testament [18:28] relative i guess it's relatively close if you compare it to yes another one that's closer [18:36] but it's not geography class now i beseech you brother by the name of [18:42] our lord yahshua the messiah that you all speak the same thing and that you and that there be no divisions among you [18:49] but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind in the same judgment right so you see paul when he [18:54] was talking about obeying yahushua and being one in the truth he's saying [18:59] listen we have to speak the same thing and have the same judgment with no division [19:05] well that's the same thing the most high god saw that was so dangerous when people were not aligned according to his [19:10] instruction his instruction was to spread out right he said that on purpose [19:17] he knows how this thing gonna play out they didn't listen so what he did is he went down and he spread them out he [19:22] forced them to spread out and confuse their language right one day because everybody is doing whatever they want to [19:28] do not everybody obeys god one day everybody will need to obey god and when that happened guess what most [19:34] like god gonna do give him one language he gonna give us one language again grab zephaniah [19:43] this is zephaniah chapter three [19:58] zephaniah 3 give me verse 8. [20:06] [Applause] [20:11] therefore weigh ye upon me says the lord until the day that i rise up to the prey [20:16] for my determination is to gather the nations that i may assemble the kingdoms to pour upon them my indignation even [20:22] all my fears anger right this is what we read about uh a couple weeks ago when we were talking about revelations keep [20:28] going for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy that's right for then will i turn to the people of pure [20:35] language he said then i'll i'll return to the people at pure language [20:40] that they may all call upon the name of the lord to serve him with one consent with one what consent everybody on the [20:47] same page right everybody is on the same page that's what it's about most high god [20:54] knows how powerful that is so if everybody is not on the same page according to his will guess what [21:00] he got to scatter it he got him confounded he got to confuse it right otherwise people will be [21:08] united to something that's going to end up killing them or sending them to hell [21:13] okay so he scattered him he scattered the people the reason why he scattered them [21:18] because if everybody is united in the way that's against his word that that's going to send them to hell so this is the act of grace that causes them to be [21:25] scattered but this is how we end up with multiple languages this is how we end up with people today that speak one [21:30] language versus another language okay let's go uh let's go well actually before we go back [21:37] let's look back at our our charts again so we could try to get an understanding of um [21:43] p-leg so now [21:49] looking at p-leg [22:02] [Applause] um [22:15] there we go all right so now looking at p leg [22:23] we see that his name means earthquake so now with his name meaning earthquake [22:30] this is where we can see that the world was not only the people were not only spread out [22:37] there was also an earthquake that spread and separated the people from from different lands so the world [22:44] starts to take a different shape similar to the shape that what we see today right [22:50] so if we look at this map we have many of the same names that we were just looking at remember we talked about [22:55] gomer and ashkenaz this attempts to lay them down in the map [23:00] to show kind of where all these different people went so we see where greece is you'll see yvonne right so [23:07] yvonne became a number of other people you see um you see uh right here egypt you see [23:14] mitzrayim remember we talked about how mr aim was egypt you see ethiopia over here you see kush [23:21] right that's many of the people that that started out as being ethiopian right so this is the beginning of where [23:27] the nation started to take form then of course from there you had people spread out right we know just to kind of get an [23:33] understanding of what we're looking at right now this is africa right so this is africa down here and [23:39] then this is europe up here [23:45] this is what we have is saudi arabia and this is the beginning of asia here [23:51] all right so if you look at it that way you'll see that everything everything was kind of started out here and then of [23:58] course over time things evolved people moved out people went to different lands [24:03] people crossed you know and went over to what was now known as the americas and all that stuff but at the beginning this [24:10] is where it kind of started out and people just continuously spread it out and that wouldn't have happened unless [24:16] the most high god cause people to separate languages and cause people to be divided like [24:22] you have to imagine that a flood just happened right and during that flood the ground was rupturing and water was [24:29] coming out it makes sense that when the flood subsided [24:34] go to um go to verse [24:40] what verse was that see if you can find in chapter maybe eight [24:46] what'd it look like when the floods start coming down [25:04] i think maybe it's eight it might be when the floods start coming out i want to say it's eight [25:11] haters when he sent out the dove and then it talked about the water i swaged in the beginning [25:20] um oh it's not in it's not in uh [25:27] it's in genesis i mean it's in uh psalms let me see if i can find where that [25:32] psalms was uh [25:37] okay we don't have to get it but there's a place in psalms that tells you that let me see if this is it [25:46] yeah now there's a place in psalms that tells you that the most high god lifted mountains [25:52] and moved the mountains around just to uh cause the water to kind of go into where the mountains are [25:58] and so if you do that you can imagine that that left places [26:04] that doesn't look quite like what we see today like islands well then i think the islands may come [26:10] from the earthquakes that happened in p-legs time right just kind of just so we can kind of [26:15] theorize and kind of look at what what may have been going on okay [26:22] so then the next thing we look at is kind of getting the idea of the flood this is the timeline right so remember [26:28] adam live 930 years old and then you can see seth lifespan so you can kind of see where all the [26:34] overlap is and you can see where the flood happened remember the flood killed everybody that [26:40] came before the flood and so that leaves you with the only thing listed here is shim [26:45] but it leaves you with shims people so we talked about shem we talked about um [26:50] our facsid we talked about salah we talked about eber we talked about p-leg [26:56] and then after that you get rue uh mariyu we get cerugu [27:01] uh you get nehor you get tara and then you get abraham but what do you notice about these [27:07] lifespans shorter they just keep getting shorter and shorter [27:13] so you're that's going to be important as we as we go through this because when we're looking at these lifespans we know [27:20] adam he was having kids until he is 130 years old all right well he had kids at 130 and [27:27] after that right we had seth he is having kids and had kids after 105. [27:33] and enos was 90 having kids and after that having kids kanan was 70 having [27:38] kids and after that having kids 65 162 65 [27:44] 187 182 noah it didn't say i don't think he had did [27:50] he have his kids at 502 i don't remember yeah noah might have his kids at a 502 [27:56] household yeah i think he did so noah having kids at [28:01] 502 right so you see that people are having children at very very very old ages in [28:08] comparison to what we look at today but then the ages started to slow down [28:14] so we see the green areas when they started to have our or when the book is telling us that they had their kids [28:19] right so you see shim a hundred then all of a sudden or fax it [28:26] is 35 30 34 30 32 30 [28:32] 29 70 with tara and then abraham's 100. ended up going to a place called sodom [35:08] right and abram ended up taking uh the the a lot of the [35:13] space that's in canaan they didn't own this land but these are the people that they decided to dwell with so that their [35:19] people didn't mix as much and they weren't so cramped they spread it out a bit right [35:25] so this is chapter 14. watch this in the canyon pass in the he gave him ties which means he gave him 10 of everything that he had [41:09] uh talking about melchizedek and he did that to honor god right so this is the this is where tithes end up coming from also your [43:24] exceedingly great reward he just denied a reward and instead of taking he took ten [43:31] percent of everything he had and gave it to god and he didn't try to get it back from the king of sodom he said no can [43:37] you stop him just pay me back for everything that that that was a cost to me to take care of your people and [43:42] regain your people but don't give me anything right so you remember back in chapter 12 the most high god promised him i'm going to make you a nation [44:04] right and i'm going to make your seed great so if you think about that from abraham's point of view it's like [44:12] i ain't got no kids right i don't have any kids you haven't [44:17] i tried to have kids because you tell them you're like man you haven't given me no kids so that means i try to have [44:22] kids but i haven't been able to have kids right so he's looking at him like what [44:27] are you gonna give me he's saying man listen i ain't got no air watch this [44:36] and abram said behold to me you have given no seed and lo one born in my house is my heir and behold the word of [44:42] the lord came unto him saying this shall not be your heir but he shall come from you he's gonna be your biological son right abram's kind of offering up like yeah [45:01] man oh boy he was born here he said the man that's born in my house is gonna have to be my heir in other land and to inherit and he said lord god whereby shall i [46:51] know that i shall inherit it and he said unto him take me a heifer of three years old in a she-goat of three [46:57] years old and a ram of three years old and a turtle dove and a young pigeon and he took unto him all these and [47:03] divided them in the midst and laid each piece one against another but the birds divided he not [47:09] and when the fouls came down upon the carcasses abram drove them away all right so that means there were vultures [47:15] that came down trying to eat the dead bodies of the animals that he's about to sacrifice so he drove them away there's [47:21] a lot in there we're not going to talk about it today but we don't have to come back to that we're gonna talk about what that means right keep but in the fourth generation they shall come here again for the iniquity of the amorites is not yet full [48:41] so he said in the fourth generation they shall come here again abram right now is [48:46] in the land of canaan which eventually becomes israel so he's saying after the fourth generation you're gonna have [48:53] children that are going to come here again that lets abra so [48:59] abram wouldn't know this right because the most high god is just giving them he's giving them dark sayings things are difficult to understand right [49:06] but as we look back in hindsight what the most high god is trying to communicate is two different things [49:11] one there's going to be a people that's going to be afflicted in a land that's not their own for 400 years [49:18] that's one then also there's going to be his people his seed that are have to go somewhere [49:24] because they're going to end up coming back to where abraham is now after four generations a lot of people [49:31] theorize and say oh the fourth generation is the same as the 400 years but that's not true if you look at how [49:36] the book looks at generations it's talking about people it's talking about this man had a son and his son's name is [49:43] this who then had a son and his son named this who then had a son those are generations if you have four sons or [49:51] four grandchildren or not four grandchildren but for uh four generations of lineage right [49:58] your son had a son and his son had a son and his son had a son that would be four generations and that's what this is [50:04]
