believe in this state you should expect no good thing from the most high however [00:42] anything that you do get whether it be a gift of tongues a gift to prophecy or any supernatural experience that you may [00:48] have it can and it will be used against you in the day of judgment with that said [00:53] peace to the same center in the room to the saints that couldn't make it to the saints week and joseph met his brothers and started giving him a hard time mm-hmm [01:33] he messing with him wasn't he right so joseph joseph he uh he finally [01:38] decided to reveal himself to the brother but not before he started messing with him a little bit he sent them back and forth and you know said put him in the [01:44] situation they'd be scared and after that that put them in a position to tell him about their that they're like oh oh [01:50] we did no we can't go back you know i'm saying you trying to keep benjamin we can't go back without benjamin right [01:56] because that's how he's messing with him like he made him bring benjamin then he made it look like benjamin stole [02:02] something from him you know i'm saying silver cup you know what i'm saying here like you know what i'm saying you know in that [02:07] case benjamin got to be my servant all right so i'm a keeper he's like oh y'all free though they're like [02:14] you don't understand we can't go back right so joseph started to break down start crying he was like you know i'm [02:44] saying trying to hide it you know i'm saying all that so he broke down started crying and he ended up revealing himself to him i was like nah man i'm joseph man [02:51] i'm your little brother oh yeah you know i'll say before that he'd talk to him through an interpreter they probably thought he was an egyptian [02:57] he's like i'm saying i'm your brother man you know i'm the one y'all you know i mean and so [03:03] and so at this point he's he uh we're about to read that verse one but he uh he's revealing himself to him and then [03:09] we're gonna read through kind of how he set stuff up for his family and kind of put us in the position to to usher in uh [03:15] the exodus and usher in moses this is uh genesis chapter 45 let's [03:21] start at verse one and joseph could not refrain himself before all them that stood by him not cry [03:27] caused every man to go out from me and there stood no man with him while joseph made himself known unto his brothers all [03:32] right so he started crying he said get everybody get out except for his brothers right so he made himself known [03:37] to his brothers what else and he wept aloud and the egyptians in the house of pharaoh heard and joseph [03:43] said unto his brethren i am joseph does my father yet live right so we asked him he was like man i'm joseph [03:49] where daddy here let's see and his brethren could not answer him they were troubled at his presence right [03:55] so the brothers they still trying to put this whole situation together they just been toying around with this man for it [04:01] you know what i'm saying so it's like wait a minute you're joseph like joe the annoying little brother joseph [04:08] no way right [04:14] they still trying to figure out like what exactly is happening right now [04:24] and his brethren could not answer him for they were troubled at his presence and joseph said unto his brethren come [04:29] near to me i pray you and they came near and he said i am joseph your brother whom you sowed into egypt that's right [04:34] now therefore be not grieved nor angry with yourselves that you sow me here for god did send me before you to preserve [04:40] life right so he's saying listen don't don't even be upset with yourself he flossing on him at this point right [04:46] don't even be obsessed with yourself most like god sent me here for a reason watch what he say next [04:51] for these two years has the famine been in the land and yet there are five years in which there shall neither be earring [04:57] nor harvest and god sent me before you to preserve you uh to preserve your posterity in the earth and to save your [05:04] lives by a great deliverance right he said the most high god sent me here because [05:09] if not for me right if not for the most like god but if the most high god didn't put me in this position and give me the [05:15] information that he did then i wouldn't be here to help y'all had a fool right the most [05:21] like god gave me a vision to allow for uh egypt to retain food [05:27] in the plenties years there were seven plenteous years and then seven years of famine [05:32] so now he's like there's been two years of this famine y'all think it's bad now it's about to be a whole lot more [05:38] but we had a resources because we store it up this is why the most hot guy sent me here so he kind of putting that [05:44] together did it for them real quick keep going watch this so now it was not you that sent me here but god and that made [05:50] me a father to pharaoh so he's saying listen don't blame yourself for this stuff it wasn't you this thing worked out the [05:56] way god wanted it to you know i'm saying and he made me a father in other words he made me a ruler alongside pharaoh [06:03] he's like he's just trying to tell him like i know y'all feel guilty for this situation but look it all worked out the way god wanted the situation plays out and he ends up being on top it's easy to be like [06:35] it's cool right but sometimes we gotta have that mindset before it's like okay you wrong [06:40] me big not a big deal about when you're doing what you're supposed to do [06:53] right and you're living the way you're supposed to live you know for a fact you can have all the surety from the most [06:59] high god that 28. and we know that all things work together for them [07:56] we're moving [08:10] give me uh you mean like 26. likewise the spirit also helps our [08:15] infirmities for we know not what we should pray for as we are but the spirit itself makes intercession for us with [08:21] groanings which cannot be uttered and he that searches the heart knows what is the man what is the mind of the [08:28] spirit that's right because he makes intercession for the saints according to the will of god and we know that all things work together for good to them [08:35] that love god and to them who are the called according to his purpose for whom he did for no [08:41] he also did predestinate to be conf conformed to that hold on go back for me [08:46] go back go back to verse 27. and he that searches the heart this is important [08:52] only because last week after a study we talked a little bit about just we didn't touch on it too much but we talked a [08:58] little bit about the soul and the spirit and it's not something that we we discuss much and i don't think i don't [09:04] think we've discussed soul and spirit and the difference in our studies too much so i think it's an important point to kind of [09:10] i'm gonna start pointing it out because whenever i have conversations with people and we run across a topic that's like oh [09:17] you know what even the people that i teach probably wouldn't know that i always want to start incorporating that because it's [09:24] like you know i'm saying it's like how who who gonna teach you if no if i'm if i'm tasked to be a teacher right and i'm [09:30] taking this responsibility to be a teacher then i got to teach you know how to teach all the subjects and touch on them [09:36] at least you know to make sure it's a record out there so somebody can get to it so we think about the soul and the spirit [09:42] and i've always thought about about them interchangeably right you got the soul you got the spirit it's like all it's [09:47] just synonyms right same thing you talk about the same thing but it's good to point out the differences right [09:54] so when you think about the spirit what do you think that is if we having a christian bible study now [10:00] where y'all can like tell you know christian bible say you know you just ask questions everybody kind of raise your hand well to me grace is it's kind [10:07] of like you know it's kind of like a warm feeling that you get from the lord [10:12] and and let me tell you one brother one time grace landed on my back you know they [10:18] said you could tell me wild stories or whatever then the next person be like well grace is [10:23] it's very difficult to describe but have you ever seen ice skating [10:28] you know what i mean this is good everybody share their own opinion but ain't got nothing to do with the word that's what we're about to do [10:34] right now we're about to you know i'm saying a little christian bible study so like what does it what do we think a [10:40] spirit is like when they say when the book says spirit we know spirit of god i ain't talking about spirit of god when the book is on my spirit it is not [10:46] talking about spirit of god what do we think that is like what do you think that represents [10:52] your life life yeah there's life sometimes spirit goes back to the one so i got it he died [10:59] the the the breath that he breathed in the adam made him a living soul you know that's what that [11:04] did everybody agree with that yeah that is spirit right but spirit is multiple things [11:12] right spirit is multiple things so like you have you have the spirit that [11:17] animates us that that causes us to have life right but then you also have spirits [11:23] right so there's evil spirits and then there's just spirits and then we all also have our own spirit [11:30] right so think about alcohol right if you go to a a store or alcohol you know store [11:36] whatever whatever you call them right they're gonna it's usually got spirits in the name you know i'm saying going to [11:41] be leaves liquor and spirits wine and spirits wine and spirits so they call alcohol spirits for a reason because [11:48] alcohol long long long time ago was seen as something spiritual [11:53] so you drink alcohol and then what happens a lot of times people become animated right they become hyper and [12:01] it feels like they're acting differently right and so that that's what spirits our spirits are [12:07] are are like a motivate a can be a motivating force right so emotions those [12:13] are spirits right it's the invisible it's the invisible stuff that causes us to make moves right causes us to behave [12:20] differently right those are those are spirits and when the bible talks about spirits that's what he's talking about [12:26] so right here notice how it talks about this spirit it's a spirit it's a spirit [12:32] of an individual so it's not a spirit that just is interacting with you or influencing you or doing something no no [12:39] this is the individual spirit so it's my spirit that paul is talking about right here watch this likewise the spirit also [12:45] helps our infirmities for we know not what we should pray for so the spirit of the most high god helps our infirmities [12:53] our weaknesses right because we don't know what we should pray for sometimes but watch this but the spirit itself [12:58] makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered uh-huh and he that searches the hearts knows what is [13:04] in the mind of the spirit okay so now we have another spirit so first the spirit of god is intercessing for it's getting [13:11] in the middle and saying listen you don't know what you're praying for you don't even know what you're supposed to be praying for i'm about to pray for you [13:17] right and that turns into groanings from us and then he gives a justification for he's saying because the spirit of god [13:25] knows the mind of what the spirit so what is that other the spirit he's [13:30] talking about you he talking about my spirit so now we talk about soul [13:37] when we say soul what is soul consciousness it's your consciences you [13:43] right what burns it forever in the lake of fire your soul your soul that's you that got [13:50] to burn forever you'll never see the book say your spirit is going to burn forever right your consciousness you your [13:56] thoughts your feelings your mo your your your leanings that is what makes you you [14:02] that is your soul right so now he's saying only the spirit of [14:07] god knows the mind of the spirit that means you don't know your spirit [14:15] you know what that means it's not your soul right [14:21] we're held accountable for our soul our spirit we can't know it [14:30] remember the heart the heart is desperately wicked spirit [14:35] that's what that's talking about spiritual things that's influenced you that's the same thing when it says that it's the same thing that paul's talking [14:40] about we wrestle now with flesh and broke blood right it's spiritual things the invisible things that we don't really [14:46] know right these things are just happening to us and we don't even know what's happening to us we just have to [14:52] kind of look at our behavior and try to judge from that right keep going we didn't mean to get into that but it's just good to point [14:57] out in search is the heart and he that searches the heart knows what is the [15:02] mind of the spirit he makes intercession for the saints according to the will of everything works together for good for those that [15:20] do what love god and if you love me you keep my commandments that got that so [15:25] when you obey god you can be confident that everything is [15:30] going to work out in your favor eventually in the end [15:36] it's all going to work out in your favor so that means you ain't got to stump somebody do something wrong you ain't [15:41] got to sit here and you know what i mean holy god grab matthew chapter five i mean we gotta we gotta we gotta finish [15:47] uh genesis cause we finishing it today but it's important that we kind of understand what we're dealing with here [15:52] it's matthew chapter five give me um give me verse 21. this is matthew [15:58] chapter five verse 22 [16:04] but i say to you that whosoever is angry with his brother without a call shall be in the danger of the judgment right he [16:09] said if you even get angry as your brother you're going to be in danger of judgment watch this [16:14] without a cause he said and whosoever shall say to his brother raka shall be in danger of the council [16:20] you call your brother stupid right you're gonna be in danger of counsel right judgment [16:26] but whosoever shall say you fool shall be in danger of hell fire uh-huh therefore if you bring your gift to the [16:33] altar and they're in there remembers that thy brother has ought against you [16:39] leave there thy gift before the altar and go thy way first be reconciled to thy brother and then come and offer thy [16:45] gift agree with agree with your adversary quickly while you are in the way with him that's at [16:52] any time the adversary deliver you to the judge and the judge deliver you to the officer and you be cast into prison [16:57] really i say unto you you shall not you shall by no means come out thence till thou has paid the uttermost farthing [17:04] right he talked about a situation where you owe your brother right i owe my brother i've wronged my [17:10] brother and therefore i owe him i have to pay restitution right i stole something or i cheated or i lied or [17:15] whatever it might be and there's legal restitution for this right he's saying it don't make no sense for you to drag [17:22] this thing out and get it to court you know you did it wrong if you take if you go to court you don't [17:27] have to pay it all anyway resolve that thing with your brother don't let emotions get in the way of it [17:33] resolve that thing get back to him like yo you know what i mean look i know all you did let me just get it to you now let you call it good we committed adultery with her already in his heart and if thy right eye offend thee pluck [18:02] it out and cast it from thee for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish and not that one of thy members should perish and not that thy whole body should be [18:21] cast into hell so the mindset here is do whatever you have to do to make it into the kingdom [18:28] right do whosoever shall marry her that is divorced commits adultery again you have heard that it has been [18:53] said by them of all time you shall not forswear thyself but shall perform unto [18:58] the lord your oaths jump down what verse is that 33 33 give me verse uh [19:05] let me verse 40. and if any man will sue thee at the law and take away thy coat let him have that [19:12] cloak this is what i want right so if anybody will sue you at the law and take away your coat let him do what give him [19:19] that cloak also and keep going and whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile go with him too [19:26] right so he's he's giving you situations where you would normally want to take some vengeance [19:33] right you sue you you you won a lawsuit against me and you took my what my coat [19:41] normally i'ma get you back right but he tell them nah give him what your [19:47] cloak also here take this also that's the mindset that he's asking us [19:54] to have and the reason why he's asking us to have that mindset is because that's the mindset that keeps you out of [19:59] trouble the only way you can have this mindset right is to be perfect read give me the [20:05] last verse thank you surely visit you and you shall carry up my bones from here and joseph died being [92:09] 110 years old and they embalmed him and he was putting the coffin in egypt right he said you gonna take my bones and [92:16] you're gonna pray you're gonna bring them with you don't leave my stuff in egypt [92:21] right because they understand this is a promise that we're dealing with right our promise was in egypt i know we [92:28] running the show when joseph died they running the show in egypt this is day stuff right it's like look i [92:36] know didn't look good but this is not exactly what the most i got promised they never lost sight of sight of that [92:41] right and that's the same focus that we got to have that's the end of the chapter all right so that's the end [92:47] next week we're
