actually ended up being pregnant and she kept with her words she brought her baby back to Eli [05:14] and at that point you know I'm saying the rest is history what was her son's name that she dedicated using the [05:21] Nazarite vow to Eli or to the most high God but under Eli's [05:29] protection Samuel all right [05:34] his name was Samuel so Samuel we're gonna find out is gonna be one of one of [05:40] the you know I'm saying he's going to be one of the prophets you're gonna be the prophet that that's responsible for [05:47] somewhat responsible we're not all the way responsible for setting up our first king okay king of Israel so we're gonna pick [05:55] up brown I think we left off Samuel chapter three first Samuel chapter three right yeah so we're gonna pick up here [06:01] at first Samuel chapter 3 verse one oh what's a few other things we gotta we [06:06] gotta make sure we cover um Eli has Sons [06:12] how many sons did the book talk about all right [06:19] the priests had some the priests how many times did we talk about the priests [06:24] have or at least the ones that we talked about [06:31] yeah two it was two sons that the book talked about all right people would they were also [06:37] priests people would bring offering and then they would steal from the people and they would sleep with the women [06:43] right [06:52] now or something he want them to die [08:10] You're Gonna Want to Have Mercy the problem is when you confront that situation and you dealing with God you [08:17] can't go above what God's judgment is if it's right for that to happen that's [08:22] what you're supposed to do right and he didn't do it and therefore the most high God is going to deal with [08:29] them so the most high God sent the Prophet The Prophet spoke to him and at the end of it just to sum it all up he [08:35] told the prophet told Eli he said listen what's going to happen is your butt [08:41] gonna die and they gonna die and ain't nobody gonna be old matter of fact he said your butt gonna die he said it [08:47] ain't nobody gonna be old in your house ever again anybody who come from your house they not gonna be old so you just [08:53] gonna have people that die at a young age and at the end of it he said you know what you want to know how this is [08:58] going to be true when your two sons drop dead I think that he's at the same day he said when your two sons drop dead the [09:05] same day that's how you know everything I told you is gonna happen just the way I told you it's gonna happen [09:10] right so now Eli got to deal with that he got to hold on to that and he got to deal with that kind of anticipating and [09:15] waiting for that to happen all right so let's pick it up it's first Samuel chapter three verse one rulers what was what what happened when we had the rulers [10:36] so what was the ultimate theme then [10:42] everybody did what was right in their own eyes everybody's just going about stuff just [10:48] what I think is right oh that's what I think about it so everybody doing something different don't nobody agree [10:54] everybody divided because they don't have guidance they didn't have instruction that [11:01] instruction oftentimes in our history came from profits right [11:06] let's talk about our profits right we went over them let's go back [11:16] right so if we look at it [11:56] are prophets all right all of these individuals are [12:01] prophets so our guidance came from those same individuals [12:07] when we look at it Noah is the one that took his sons and was like okay let's repopulate the world [12:14] then he took each one of his sons he told them to go about their way and this through his sons that the whole world [12:20] exists right now right then after that you fast forward to [12:25] Abraham right Abraham is the one that told her yo nah this is what we gonna do everybody gonna be circumcised is where [12:32] we about to live and that's how we about to handle things he gave us guidance right you fast forward to Moses Moses is [12:40] the one to say okay you know what I'm we about to leave Egypt we're gonna go into the Wilderness I'm gonna give y'all some [12:45] laws he gave us Guidance the one thing about all of these men is they heard [12:50] from God right the most high God spoke to them in some way shape or fashion and gave them [12:56] instruction on what they need to do and how they need to instruct us right [13:02] so this is what we're used to we're accustomed to that as a people well there's a time of Judges where [13:09] everybody no longer they didn't have that guidance as much and everybody started doing whatever they wanted to do [13:14] they did whatever they thought was right as opposed to relying on the guidance of the most high God well now we get to [13:20] Samuel and not only at least in judges there as prophets here and there in Samuel saying [13:27] listen there had not been a prophet for a while not a lot of profits for a while that spoke to the people openly in other [13:33] words there was no open Vision what does that mean open Vision no word of the Lord not that it's open right it would [13:41] be one that's like like what we just saw with Eli right you got a profit that go directly [13:46] to Eva Eli and tell Eli something about Eli but it's nothing open there where it's it's something to go to all the [13:53] people and say listen this the instruction for all the people this is how we gonna govern the nation [13:58] right so that's much like what we dealing with now we don't have any [14:04] prophecy we ain't even got no individual prophecy at least that not that we know maybe it did happen we don't know nothing about it right but we ain't got [14:10] we ain't got much of anything to go on that's why you see everybody doing what's right in their eyes [14:15] right that's why you see that's why you see that's why you see people stand up and they say you know what Louis Farrakhan that's what we need to follow they don't care [14:35] nothing about religion they just care about black people and getting black people that's that descendants enslaved what they need the other people the universe is saying to me it's a private thing so guess what [16:21] I can do what's right in my own eyes I can kind of I can kind of assess my situation and tell you this is what I [16:29] think God wants for me but remember it always come back to I is what I think God wants for me this is what I see [16:35] things so and really I'm doing whatever I think in my own eyes what I think is right in my own eyes that's where we are [16:42] now it's a bunch of people that's like man it's too many religions don't nobody agree so you know what I'm just gonna do [16:49] what's right in my own eyes right so that's where we are and that's [16:55] what Samuel is kind of coming up in is a place where [17:01] everybody is still doing what's writing their own eyes and the word of yahuwah is precious what I'm saying you [17:44] imagine him being like younger you know what I'm saying teenagers yeah he might be a teenager he might be a young adult or something like that but he's younger [17:50] call my son lie down again now Samuel did not yet know [20:10] that yahuwah neither was the word of the Lord yet revealed unto him and you will call Samuel the third time [20:18] and he arose and went to Eli and said here I am for you did call me and Eli [20:23] perceived that yahuwah had called the child therefore Eli said to Samuel go lie down and it shall be if he call you [20:29] that you shall say speak yahuwah for your servant hears so Samuel went and laid down in this place and yahuwah came [20:36] and stood and called that as at other times Samuel Samuel then Samuel answered speak for your servant hears and yahuwah [20:43] said to Samuel behold I will do a thing in Israel at which both the ears of everyone that hears it shall Tingle look [20:49] so now the most hot guys start talking to him you got to put yourself in the mindset [20:54] of the most high God all knowing right at any point he could [20:59] easily give Samuel the understanding that he's talking to him and not Eli but [21:04] he didn't intentionally he didn't right [21:09] he lets elife I mean he lets Samuel figure this thing out right and it's important to see that [21:15] it's just whenever you see the most high God interact with people always think about how could God based off of what I [21:22] know all-powerful God might be able to do what's a different way he could have gone about it think about all the ways [21:28] that you might have handled it and then once you get done thinking about it think about how the way that the most high God handle it is the best way to [21:34] handle it it's important to think like that because we think we'd be thinking we got [21:41] better ideas and stuff and so if I think the best way to handle it was to just say Samuel this is [21:48] but God handle it a different way that means that God knows something that [21:53] I don't know and we should use that to Humble ourselves and learn from the book [21:59] ask ourselves a question why did God want to play it out that way [22:05] and you'll start to learn that the most I got his his intention is never to lay it all out for people and make sure that [22:11] you know I'm saying it's just simple for everybody getting nobody got a choice in what they doing because it's so obvious no his intention is if you piece by [22:19] piece and let you make choices to confirm your uh your worthiness to be a [22:26] son of God all right keep going in that day I will perform against Eli [22:33] all the things which I've spoken concerning his house when I began I will also make an end for I have told him that the iniquity of Eli's [22:50] house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering forever in Samuel lay until the morning and [22:56] opened the doors of the house of the Lord and Samuel feared to show Eli the vision then Eli called Samuel and said [23:02] Samuel my son and he answered here am I and he said what is the thing that yahuwah had said unto you I pray thee [23:09] hide it not for me God do so to thee and more also if you hide anything from me of all things that he had said unto you [23:15] and Samuel told him every every wit and he had nothing from him and he said it [23:21] is yahuwah let him do what seems him good and Samuel grew and the Lord was with [23:26] him and he did none of his and and did the Lord was with him and did let none [23:32] of his words fall to the ground all right so what that means is Samuel grew and yahuwah was with him right and then [23:40] the book say after that that the most hot guy yahuwah did not let any of his [23:45] words fall to the ground in other words him as a prophet if the most high God [23:51] gave it to him to say the most I got made sure to everything that he came that said that that he spoke as prophecy [23:58] that came out of his mouth all of it came to uh came true everything he said [24:03] came true right that's important to know because now Samuel has be what he's doing is [24:10] he's laying groundwork the book is laying groundwork trying to show you how trusted Samuel is going to become [24:16] right so remember the different prophets that we had before there's like little [24:22] profits here and there or maybe prophets that you know I'm saying was had a very specific purpose you know let me go talk [24:27] to Eli what was that when God was like uh even if Samuel drove and somebody else came somebody that's trusted trustworthy you know what [25:01] I'm saying laying it all out nothing that he say if Samuel said that thing [25:06] gonna happen and people get to see it over and over and over from a young age with him [25:13] so that he gets older and he's a trusted voice it's very different from the prophets that we have before that may [25:19] have been prophets in very specific moments but he's somebody over time over time in the face of the nation yeah and [25:26] throughout the whole nation right everybody can see him and nothing he just builds up a reputation after reputation man every time Samuel says [25:33] something it play out that way so what you think if somebody got that type of wisdom and they say oh look this is [25:38] what's gonna happen and they end up playing out that way do you think people gonna start going to him for advice [25:43] so the more people go to them for advice that just builds his reputation even more so now he's known as this guy
