Summary
Can riches or anything in this life redeem a soul? In this Sabbath lesson from Psalm 49 and Matthew 5, we learn that no one can buy their way out of death, so we have to choose to lose the glory and approval of this world if we want to see the kingdom. Through Job 1, you’ll see that serving Yahuah is not always easy and that we can’t depend on people or praise to stay obedient, while Matthew 5 reminds us the law was never done away with and Isaiah 29 warns against teaching the precepts of men. Finally, Luke 22, Matthew 19 and 1 Corinthians 3 and 6 teach that the greatest is the one who serves, that every man’s work will be tried by fire, and that we must not be deceived about the sins that keep us out of the kingdom.
