For Asking Counsel of One That Had a Familiar Spirit, To Inquire of It

Summary

Where should we go when we want to hear from God? In this Sabbath lesson from 1 Samuel 8 and 28, we see Israel reject Samuel to have a king, and Saul later seek a woman with a familiar spirit when Yahuah would no longer answer him. Through Leviticus 17 and 10, you’ll learn that the life is in the blood and that the more God reveals to us, the greater our responsibility, while Isaiah 8 sends us to the law and to the testimony, because anything that does not speak according to the word has no light in it. Finally, 1 Chronicles 10, Acts 16 and 2 Peter 2 show that Saul died for asking counsel of a familiar spirit, and they warn us not to chase spiritual experiences but to test every voice by the book.
