Ye Shall Fear Every Man His Mother, and His Father

Summary

Why does the word feel like a sealed book to so many, and how do we make it practical in our daily lives? In this Sabbath lesson from Isaiah 28 and 29 and Ezekiel 33, we learn that Yahuah speaks precept upon precept, line upon line, so that those who draw near with their mouths while their hearts are far from Him stumble, while Isaiah 8 seals the law among His disciples and sends us to the law and to the testimony. Through Deuteronomy 6, Leviticus 19, Genesis 13, 1 Corinthians 5, James 4 and Matthew 13, you’ll see how commandments, statutes and judgments fit together and why being holy means growing separate from the world like wheat among the tares. Finally, Leviticus 19, Galatians 4 and Proverbs 22, 29 and 23 call us to fear our father and mother, and teach parents to train up a child in the way he should go and not withhold correction.
